Our Mission Work

World Service has always been an important part of the life of First Church. As we share God’s blessing and gifts we offer tangible and financial support in many different areas. Our support is divided among three categories: local, national and global.

Locally we support:

• Community Table, Westfield Food Pantry, Carson Center for Human Resources, The Salvation Army , Western Massachusetts Food Bank and The Samaritan Inn.

Nationally we support: Maine Seacoast Mission, Morgan-Scott Project, and Paul Joyal (Inter Varsity Boston University).

Globally we support: Carolyn Dewey (African Inland Mission), Tom & Libby Little (Afghanistan), Heifer Project, Ludhiana Christian Medical School and Hospital (India) and The United Church of Christ Outreach through Our Church’s Wider Mission (O.C.W.M.) and One Great Hour of Sharing. We send health kits & school kits where needed through Church World Service. The World Service Committee carefully reviews mission support each year and makes changes as needed. We also respond when disasters occur here or abroad.
